NEUFIT AND THE NEUBIE
NEUBIE is NeuFit’s patent-pending device. It is an acronym for “NEURO-BIO-ELECTRIC STIMULATOR.” Everything on this page describes the combination of the device and our unique, patent-pending methods for using it. The NEUBIE is engineered to take advantage of all of the amazing things we’ve learned about the nervous system in the last 2-3 decades.
THE ULTIMATE IN NEUROMUSCULAR RE-EDUCATION
Combined with our protocols, the NEUBIE can find neurological deficits in the human body with incredible precision. As we all know, the nervous system controls every muscle movement. If a movement dysfunction is contributing to your pain, keeping you injured, limiting your mobility, or robbing you of performance, then our approach can help you.
HOW IS IT SO EFFECTIVE?
The NEUBIE wave form has two main benefits. (1) It provides direct current, and (2) it matches the signals the nervous system already sends naturally on its own.
Using Direct Current (DC) is important, because it has numerous, positive biological effects. DC fields will accelerate the body’s own physiological processes of healing, repair, and regeneration. Although this has been known for a long time, most devices out there are alternating current (AC). These devices are cheaper and easier to engineer, and most people don’t know the difference. Unfortunately, they won’t have anywhere near the effect at the cellular level.
The NEUBIE signal is also engineered to match the dynamics of the body’s own, internal signals. When the current is sent, it gets interpreted the same way as if actual movement is taking place. This allows us to identify exactly where there are any flaws in the neurological control of movement, and retrain them. We all know that proper movement can be very beneficial for the body. That movement always reaches the brain as electrical impulses, and we now have a way to send those same signals directly! And though it’s not a replacement for movement, it sure provides a nice boost to a movement practice.
There is one additional point on the issue of AC vs. DC. When turned up to a high enough level to make a difference, AC causes co-contraction. In other words, as the AC signal goes back and forth, it causes opposing muscles to fight against each other. This reinforces poor movement patterns - the very same ones that contribute to injury in the first place. Our DC current promotes eccentric contractions, which research is proving to be a major factor in effective rehabilitation.
